So here is our top five Motiv bowling balls available today by BowlersMart pro shop store managers from around the country:

#5 - Motiv Forge Flare Bowling Ball

The Forge Flare brings the heat with solid reactive technology unlike anything ever seen before in the MOTIV® line! Designed for use on medium-heavy oil conditions, it provides unparalleled traction in the front of the lane, without sacrificing down lane reaction.

The ability of the ForgeTM Flare to shape so easily in higher oil volumes is possible because of new Coercion MXC (MaXimum Continuation) Solid Reactive cover stock. It is strongest solid shell ever created by MOTIV®. Most impressive is the continuation from such a strong cover.

The ForgeTM Flare partners this new cover technology with the symmetrical Detonator core, which is utilized to provide a low RG and high differential. The result is a fast revving, strong, and continuous bowling ball with massive track flare potential.

#4 - Motiv Fatal Venom bowling ball

The Fatal Venom provides a deadly combination of length with an angular strike on light-medium oil conditions. It features the latest MOTIV® cover technology and the outstanding original Gear core from the Venom Shock.

The Gear core gives the Fatal Venom both low RG and low differential so it spins super-fast with minimal track flare. The result is a stable ball motion with massive energy retention.

Utilizing the latest Infusion Pearl Reactive cover, the Fatal Venom offers great length and angularity. These traction characteristics joined with the control of the Gear core provide a clean and moderately angular motion that is ideal for scoring on drier lanes.

#3 - motiv purple tank bowling ball

One of the longest running MOTIV® product lines, the Tanks are the premiere bowling balls for control on the harshest conditions. The latest addition to this legendary line is the Purple Tank™.

The Tank™ series changed forever with the introduction of Microcell Polymer technology. While Microcell Polymer (MCP) is now recognized as the solution for the ball motion gap between reactive resin and urethane, MCP does not replace urethane completely. With that in mind, MOTIV® has been in pursuit of a truly special urethane cover stock that provides adequate traction on modern lane surfaces conditioned with the high volume, high viscosity oil patterns competitive bowlers see so regularly.

Now, MOTIV® is unveiling the brand new Purple Solid Urethane cover stock. It builds on the technology of Microcell Polymer, but it eliminates the oil absorption that causes MCP covers to shape down lane. This new cover allows the Purple Tank™ to display incredible control along with the aggressive traction seen from previous MCP balls like the Tank™ Blitz. It is ready to dominate when true urethane is needed in battle.

To boost the control factor, the Flux™ core is employed on the Purple Tank™ to lower the track flare potential. Previously used in the Desert Tank™, the Flux™ core is the proven solution for wet/dry conditions when the bowler needs to use shallow angles.

#2 - jackal ghost bowling ball

The Jackal has been resurrected! The new Jackal Ghost is here to reign terror on heavy oil. With paranormal performance, it delivers more total hook potential than any previous Jackal with no loss in continuation. It?s scary good!

The Predator V2 weight block, first used on the Jackal LE, is now at the core of the Jackal Ghost. Featuring a low RG and loads of differential, this asymmetric design is easy to rev and produces massive track flare.

Combining the physics of the Predator V2 with the chemistry of the new Coercion HFS (High Friction Solid) cover stock, the Jackal Ghost elevates heavy oil performance to a new level. Coercion HFS is the most aggressive cover stock to date on a bowling ball in the Jackal product line. Tuned with a 3000 Grit LSS finish, bowlers will see both excellent mid-lane read and unbelievable continuation.

Obviously, the Jackal Ghost will be a go-to ball for bowlers that want to see more hook without sacrificing continuation on higher volumes of oil. It will also be ideal for bowlers that have a low rev rate or higher ball speeds. –

#1 Motiv Venom Shock bowling ball

This will come to no SHOCK (cheesy pun) that the Motiv Shock is the number 1 ball of all time for the brand. This ball is still sold today, is still a favorite among all level of players and is still seen on many racks in the bowling centers. It is a staple in peoples arsenal for smooth, consistent power and a benchmark reaction.

Motiv has no plans it seems on getting rid of this ball anytime soon. Most people who own a Motiv Venom Shock purchase another one when their current one gets a little old instead of replacing it with another ball.

It also is the best selling ball for Motiv of all time, and for these reasons we believe the Venom Shock to be the king of all motiv balls ever produced.

The Motiv Venon Shock has it all at an affordable price. This ball pairs the Gear weight block with the Turmoil MFS Reactive coverstock from the Covert Revolt to produce a smooth but angular backend motion that continues through the pins. The colors on this ball really pop on the lane and produce shocking results on light to medium oil conditions.

– Core Type: Gear
– Coverstock: Turmoil MFS Reactive
– Factory Finish: 4000 Grit Sanded
– RG: 2.48

  1. Rich Gandia says:

What would be the strongest ball with length and backend that can be thrown from 20 out to 8 and be able to turn the corner in the fresh for a full roller that has above average revs but slower speed in the 12mph range due to age

  2. Jonathan Hernandez says:

I throw pretty much nothing but motiv. I have there shirt the newest balls I need a bag and I am nothing but motiv
I love how the ball smacks the pins and how the balls flow off my hands. I recommend motiv all the way.
