Brian Halstrom

Vice President of Marketing & eCommerce, BowlersMart

Brian Halstrom has been in the bowling industry for over 35 years as a competitive bowler and nearly two decades as a bowling ecommerce professional. He holds a degree in Bowling Industry Management & Technology from Vincennes University — one of the only programs of its kind in the country — and was named a collegiate All-American while bowling for the University of Central Florida in 2006.

As VP of Marketing & eCommerce at BowlersMart, Brian oversees all digital operations across the company’s portfolio of bowling retail websites including BowlersMart.com, SwagBowling.com, EpicBowling.com, and HammerBowlingGear.com. He has served as the lead developer and primary content creator for BowlersMart since 2013, authoring hundreds of product reviews, buying guides, tournament resources, and educational articles that help bowlers at every level make informed equipment decisions.

Bowling Career & Credentials

Brian started bowling in 1990 at age eight and developed into one of Florida’s top competitive bowlers. His career highlights include:

  • Collegiate All-American — University of Central Florida, 2006
  • Florida State Record Holder — 889 series (games of 289, 300, 300) in 2007
  • Florida State Youth Bowling Hall of Fame — Inductee
  • Education — Degree in Bowling Industry Management & Technology, Vincennes University

This competitive background means every product review, buying guide, and equipment recommendation on BowlersMart comes from someone who has actually thrown thousands of games with the gear being discussed — not just studied the spec sheets.

Professional Background

Brian entered the bowling ecommerce space in 2007 and joined BowlersMart as lead web developer and content strategist in 2013. Since then, he has built BowlersMart’s digital presence into one of the bowling industry’s most trusted online retail destinations.

His areas of expertise include:

  • Bowling ball technology — coverstocks, core designs, ball motion dynamics, and how equipment choices affect on-lane performance
  • Arsenal building — helping bowlers select the right combination of equipment for their style, rev rate, and the conditions they face
  • New product releases — detailed breakdowns of new bowling balls from Brunswick, Storm, Hammer, Motiv, Radical, Columbia 300, Track, SWAG, Epic, and other major manufacturers
  • Tournament and league preparation — equipment strategies for USBC-sanctioned competition and league play
  • Bowling industry trends — seasonal buying patterns, technology developments, and the evolving equipment landscape

Why Trust BowlersMart’s Content

Every piece of content published on BowlersMart is built on a simple principle: educate first, sell second. Brian’s approach prioritizes factual accuracy and genuine helpfulness over marketing hype. Product specs are verified against official manufacturer data. Comparisons are based on real technical differences — not vague claims. And no link, statistic, or recommendation is fabricated.

This means when BowlersMart publishes a new ball release breakdown, a buying guide, or a tournament preparation article, readers can trust that the information comes from someone who holds a degree in the bowling industry, has competed at the collegiate All-American level, has been deeply embedded in bowling ecommerce since 2007, and still actively follows every aspect of the sport and its equipment technology.

BowlersMart is a family-owned bowling equipment retailer established in 2004 with always-free shipping on every order, 60-day returns, and same-day processing. Bowlers can earn rewards on every purchase through the Striking Rewards loyalty program.
