What We Can Match — And By How Much

Three specs you can request, one we can’t guarantee. Here are the exact ranges we work within.

Spec #1

📍 Pin Placement

±0.5″

Request a 3″ pin, we ship between 2.5″–3.5″.

Pin placement affects how the ball reacts at the pins and shapes overall lane motion.

Spec #2

⚖️ Top Weight

±0.5 oz

Request 3 oz top weight, we ship between 2.5 oz–3.5 oz.

Top weight influences initial ball motion and how much the ball hooks down the lane.

Spec #3

🎳 Gross Weight

±3 oz

Request 14 lbs 3 oz, we ship between 14 lbs 0 oz–14 lbs 6 oz.

Consistent ball weight keeps your timing and release feeling the same shot after shot.

Not Guaranteed

⚠️ Mass Bias (MB)

Cannot guarantee

MB placement is set during ball manufacturing, not during selection.

If MB matters for your layout, please discuss with our team before ordering.

How to Request

Three Steps to Submit Your Spec Request

All spec requests need to be made at checkout, in either the “Specific Requests” box or the “Order Notes” section.

STEP 1 — At Checkout

Where to Add Your Request

Add your spec request in one of two places on the checkout page:

  • The “Specific Requests” box
  • The “Order Notes” section
STEP 2 — Be Specific

Example Request

“Please provide 15 lb ball with 3″ pin placement and 2.5 oz top weight. Thank you!”

Be clear and direct. The more precise your request, the better we can match it.

STEP 3 — Pro Tip

Asking for a Range?

If you want pin or top weight within a range (example: 2″–3″ pin), request the midpoint (2.5″ pin).

Asking for the midpoint gives us the best chance to land your ball inside the range you want.

Policy Details

Full Specification Policy

Tolerance: ±0.5 inches

Example: If you request a 3″ pin placement, we will send a ball with pin placement between 2.5″ to 3.5″.

Why it matters: Pin placement affects how the ball reacts when it encounters the pins and influences the ball’s overall motion down the lane.

Tolerance: ±0.5 ounces

Example: If you request 3 oz top weight, we will send a ball with top weight between 2.5 oz to 3.5 oz.

Why it matters: Top weight affects the ball’s initial motion and can influence how much the ball hooks down the lane.

Tolerance: ±3 ounces

Example: If you request a 14 lbs 3 oz ball, we will send a ball weighing between 14 lbs 0 oz to 14 lbs 6 oz.

Why it matters: Consistent ball weight is important for maintaining your timing and release consistency.

Best Practice: If you wish for pin or top weight to be within a specific range (example: 2″–3″ pin), request the halfway point of that range (example: 2.5″ pin if you require a 2″–3″ pin).

Why this works: Requesting the midpoint gives us the best chance to deliver a ball that meets your requirements within our tolerance ranges.

Important Limitation: We cannot guarantee any requests made for mass bias (MB) placement.

Reason: Mass bias placement is determined during the manufacturing process and cannot be controlled during ball selection.
