ATTRIBUTE INDEX
Bowling Balls by Differential
Differential measures how much the ball flares as it travels down the lane. Flare is the distance between successive oil rings on the ball after each rotation. Higher differential means more flare, more total ball motion, and a stronger backend reaction. The USBC limit is 0.060 for 15-pound balls.

HOW TO READ DIFFERENTIAL
The 3 Differential Tiers
Each Differential value falls into one of three tiers. Knowing which tier you need narrows the search before you drill down to specific values.
LOW DIFFERENTIAL
0.006 to 0.030
Smooth, controlled reaction. Great for straighter players and dry lanes.
MEDIUM DIFFERENTIAL
0.031 to 0.045
Balanced reaction. Versatile for most lane conditions.
HIGH DIFFERENTIAL
0.046 and up
Strong, angular reaction. Built for heavy oil and rev-dominant players.
