Description
A High-RG Asymmetric With the Sharpest Backend in the Global Line
About the Portal
The 900 Global Portal represents a different approach to a 900 Series ball. The all-new Conduit A.I. Core is purposely engineered as a high-RG, high-differential asymmetric, so it clears the front part of the lane better than any ball in the current Global line, ignoring the traffic in the heads and maintaining its energy for one of the sharpest backends the 900 Global brand has ever seen.
The stronger RB 92 Solid Reactive cover was strategically chosen to ensure optimal traction, and that all-new cover enhances the quick response time of the core. Factory-finished with Storm’s Power Edge and dressed in a clean, deep red, the Portal is the 900 Series ball for bowlers who want a heavy-oil asymmetric that saves its energy for the back of the lane.
Understanding the 900 Global Conduit A.I. Core and 900 Global RB 92 Solid Reactive
900 Global built the Portal to clear the front of the lane and unload on the backend. Specifically, the asymmetric Conduit A.I. Core pairs a high 2.59 RG with a strong .050 differential and a .019 intermediate differential at 15 lb, an unusual combination that pushes the ball through the heads while still flaring hard down lane, while the RB 92 Solid Reactive cover at a Power Edge finish supplies the traction to keep that quick core response under control on medium-heavy to heavy oil. The full per-weight numbers are listed below.
A Purpose-Built High-RG, High-Diff Asymmetric That Ignores the Front
At the heart of the Portal is the all-new asymmetric Conduit A.I. Core. Where most heavy oil asymmetrics run a low RG to rev early, the Conduit is purposely engineered the other way: at 15 lb it measures a high RG of 2.59 with a strong .050 differential and a .019 intermediate differential. The high RG lets the ball ignore the traffic in the heads and clear the front better than any ball in the current Global line.
The high differential and strong intermediate differential then take over down lane, producing heavy flare and one of the sharpest backends the 900 Global brand has ever seen. Because the core is asymmetric it has a defined preferred spin axis, so layout has a real say in how quickly the Portal responds; your pro shop can tune the pin and PSA to your game.
A Stronger Solid Cover Chosen to Keep the Quick Core Response in Check
Wrapping the Conduit A.I. Core is the stronger RB 92 Solid Reactive coverstock, strategically chosen to ensure optimal traction. A high-RG core that skids through the front needs a cover that can find the oil, and the RB 92 solid supplies that grip so the Portal reads the mid lane and sets up for its backend instead of skidding past the breakpoint.
The all-new cover also enhances the quick response time of the core, so the Portal changes direction decisively when it finds friction. Finished with Storm’s Power Edge for a clean, long-lasting box surface, it is built for medium-heavy to heavy oil; take the surface down at your pro shop for an earlier read on the freshest patterns.

Who This Ball Is Right For
✓Rev-Dominant Players: A high-RG heavy oil asym that gets through the front instead of burning up, then unloads down lane
✓Balanced Players: Strong traction from the RB 92 solid with a quick, decisive backend you can play from multiple angles
✓Tournament Players: Clears heavy front-lane traffic on fresh patterns and keeps its energy for the pins
✓Global Loyalists: The sharpest backend 900 Global has built, in a clean, deep red
Good to Know Before You Buy
·Strong, aggressive motion: This is a high-flare piece built for traction. If you want a controlled, lower-hook reaction, a lower-differential ball will suit you better.
·Ships polished: The Power Edge (Polished) finish runs clean and long out of the box. For an earlier read on heavier oil, take the surface down at your pro shop.
·Asymmetric layout sensitivity: Layout choices shift the reaction more than on a symmetric ball. Match the pin and mass bias to your game with your pro shop.
·Colors vary: Actual colors vary somewhat from the photos shown; no two balls come out of the mold exactly alike.
·Tiny pit holes are normal: A few tiny pit holes in the coverstock are a normal part of the manufacturing process.
·Sold undrilled: Ships without finger holes, so it can be fitted to your hand and span.
BowlersMart Tips: Where the Portal Fits in Your 900 Global Arsenal
Where It Fits in Your Arsenal
In the 900 Global lineup, the Portal is a 900 Series heavy oil asymmetric with a twist: it is the strong ball you reach for when you need length through the front. It sits alongside the Viking Conquest at the top of the bag, the Portal for the sharper, later shape and the Viking Conquest when you want an earlier, smoother read, then you step down to the 800 Series Vengeance Returns as the lanes transition.
Surface Adjustments
The Power Edge factory finish gives the Portal its clean, long box reaction. Take the surface down for an earlier read on fresh heavy oil, or restore the polish to bring the length and sharp backend back. Have surface changes done at your pro shop for an even, consistent finish.
Coverstock Care
The RB 92 solid cover absorbs oil to create its traction, so it needs regular care. Wipe the Portal down after every set and deep clean it periodically to keep the mid-lane read and sharp backend consistent.
