Description
A Strong, Angular Asymmetric Pearl for Medium to Heavy Oil
About the Combat
The Brunswick Combat is a strong, angular asymmetric built to attack medium to heavy oil. It pairs the asymmetric Rampart Core with the HK22C Alpha Premier Pearl coverstock, delivering big flare with clean length and a sharp, defined backend. It is a high-performance piece for bowlers who want shape and power as the lane transitions.
The Combat brings serious asymmetric shape. The Rampart core carries a strong differential and mass bias for plenty of flare and a defined breakpoint, while the polished HK22C Alpha Premier Pearl cover gets the ball down the lane cleanly and then unloads off the friction. The result is a clean, angular motion that reads later and finishes sharper than a solid, ideal for medium to heavy oil and transition.
Understanding the Brunswick Rampart Core and Brunswick HK22C Alpha Premier Pearl Reactive
Brunswick built the Combat for a strong, angular asymmetric motion on medium to heavy oil. Specifically, the asymmetric Rampart Core posts a 2.502 RG, a strong .051 differential, and a .019 intermediate differential, numbers that produce high flare and a pronounced, angular breakpoint, while the HK22C Alpha Premier Pearl cover at a polished finish conserves energy through the fronts for a sharp move down lane. As a result, it gives you length with a strong, angular backend. The per-weight specifications are listed below.
A Strong Asymmetric Core for Big Flare and a Defined Breakpoint
At the heart of the Combat is the asymmetric Rampart Core. At 15 lb it measures a 2.502 RG, a strong .051 differential, and a .019 intermediate differential, a combination that produces high track flare and a pronounced, angular breakpoint. The strong differential and mass bias give it big flare and a defined, continuous move at the spot.
Brunswick wraps the Rampart core in DynamiCore for added durability and a stronger hitting ball. Because the core is asymmetric, layout has a strong influence on the reaction, so your pro shop can tune the pin and intermediate differential to control how clean and how angular the Combat plays.
A Polished HK22C Pearl Cover for Length and a Sharp Backend
The Combat wraps that core in Brunswick’s HK22C Alpha Premier Pearl Reactive coverstock at a polished factory-compound finish. The pearl additive and polished surface let the ball conserve energy through the front of the lane, so it gets down cleanly and then makes a strong, angular move off the friction.
That clean read paired with the high-differential Rampart core is what gives the Combat its identity: big hook with a sharp change of direction. Leave it polished for length and angle, or take the surface down at your pro shop for an earlier, smoother read on more oil.

Who This Ball Is Right For
✓Tournament Players: A strong, angular asymmetric pearl that conserves energy for a sharp backend on medium to heavy oil
✓Higher-Rev Bowlers: The high-differential Rampart core and clean HK22C pearl reward revs with a big, angular move off the spot
✓Players Who Need Angle: Cleaner length through the fronts with strong flare for a sharp change of direction
✓Arsenal Builders: The angular pearl to pair above the benchmark Crown Victory and below the strongest solids
Good to Know Before You Buy
·Strong, aggressive motion: This is a high-flare piece built for traction. If you want a controlled, lower-hook reaction, a lower-differential ball will suit you better.
·Ships polished: The 500, 1000, 1500 Siaair / Crown Factory Compound finish runs clean and long out of the box. For an earlier read on heavier oil, take the surface down at your pro shop.
·Asymmetric layout sensitivity: Layout choices shift the reaction more than on a symmetric ball. Match the pin and mass bias to your game with your pro shop.
·Colors vary: Actual colors vary somewhat from the photos shown; no two balls come out of the mold exactly alike.
·Tiny pit holes are normal: A few tiny pit holes in the coverstock are a normal part of the manufacturing process.
·Sold undrilled: Ships without finger holes, so it can be fitted to your hand and span.
BowlersMart Tips: Where the Combat Fits in Your Brunswick Arsenal
Where It Fits in Your Arsenal
In the Brunswick lineup, the Combat is the strong, angular asymmetric pearl for medium to heavy oil and transition. It reads later and finishes sharper than the benchmark Crown Victory, so it is the piece you move to when you want clean length with a big, defined backend. Pair it with the Combat Hybrid for an earlier, stronger read on fresher oil.
Surface Adjustments
The polished factory-compound finish gives the Combat its clean length and angular backend. Take the surface down with a lower-grit pad for an earlier, smoother read on more oil, or keep it polished for maximum length and angle when the lanes dry. Have surface changes done at your pro shop for an even, consistent finish.
Coverstock Care
Wipe the HK22C Alpha Premier cover with an approved reactive ball cleaner after every session, and deep clean it periodically. Keeping the cover fresh preserves the clean length and sharp backend that define the Combat.
