What should I know about the Double Trouble?
Description
A Clean Symmetric Pearl for Medium Oil
About the Double Trouble
The DV8 Double Trouble is a clean, controllable symmetric pearl built for medium oil. It pairs the symmetric Dualistic Core with the HK22 Havoc Pearl coverstock at a polished finish, so it gets down the lane easily and finishes with a smooth, defined backend. It is an easy-to-read, length-first piece for medium conditions and transition.
The Double Trouble keeps reaction clean and readable. The symmetric Dualistic core rolls smooth with controllable flare, while the polished HK22 Havoc Pearl cover conserves energy through the heads for a defined move down lane. The result is a forgiving, predictable pearl that shines on medium oil and the back half of a block.
Understanding the DV8 Dualistic Core and DV8 HK22 Havoc Pearl Reactive
DV8 built the Double Trouble for clean length and a controllable backend on medium oil. Specifically, the symmetric Dualistic Core posts a 2.496 RG and a .045 differential, numbers that produce a smooth, even roll with controllable flare, while the HK22 Havoc Pearl cover at a polished finish reads later and saves energy for a defined move down lane. As a result, it gives you length with a smooth, predictable backend. The per-weight specifications are listed below.
A Smooth Symmetric Core for a Predictable Roll
At the heart of the Double Trouble is the symmetric Dualistic Core. At 15 lb it measures a 2.496 RG and a .045 differential, numbers that produce a smooth, even roll with controllable flare. A symmetric core reads the lane the same way shot after shot, so the ball is easy to read and repeat.
DV8 wraps the Dualistic core in DynamiCore for added durability and a stronger hitting ball, along with the patent-pending Durability Optimization Technology (DOT). That predictable, on-line motion paired with a pearl cover is what gives the Double Trouble its clean length and smooth, defined backend.
A Polished HK22 Pearl for Length and a Defined Backend
The Double Trouble wraps that core in DV8’s HK22 Havoc Pearl Reactive coverstock at a 500, 1000, 1500 Siaair / Factory Compound finish. The pearl additive and polished surface let the ball conserve energy through the front of the lane, so it gets down cleanly and then makes a smooth, defined move off the friction.
That clean read and controllable backend make the Double Trouble a great fit for medium oil and transition. Leave it polished for length and a defined finish, or take the surface down at your pro shop for an earlier, smoother read when the oil increases.

BowlersMart Tips: Where the Double Trouble Fits in Your DV8 Arsenal
Where It Fits in Your Arsenal
In the DV8 lineup, the Double Trouble is the clean, controllable symmetric pearl for medium oil. It reads later and smoother than the strong asymmetric Heckler and Hater pieces, so it is the ball you move to as the lane dries and you want length with a defined backend. Pair it with the Dark Side Curse solid for an earlier read on more oil.
Surface Adjustments
The polished factory-compound finish gives the Double Trouble its clean length and defined backend. Take the surface down with a lower-grit pad for an earlier, smoother read on more oil, or keep it polished for length when the lanes dry. Have surface changes done at your pro shop for an even, consistent finish.
Coverstock Care
Wipe the HK22 Havoc Pearl cover with an approved reactive ball cleaner after every session, and deep clean it periodically. Keeping the cover fresh preserves the clean length and smooth backend that define the Double Trouble.
