It pairs the asymmetric Gear APG Core with a Maximum Continuation cover, delivering a defined, hard-driving shape that keeps moving through the pins, all while staying controllable on dry to medium oil. The Lethal Venom pairs that asymmetric Gear APG Core with Motiv’s Leverage MXC Solid Reactive coverstock at a 3000-grit finish. The asymmetric core adds a defined breakpoint, while the MXC (Maximum Continuation) cover at a slightly coarser 3000-grit surface reads a touch earlier and drives continuously through the pins.

Understanding the Motiv Gear APG Core and Motiv Leverage MXC Solid Reactive

Motiv built the Lethal Venom for an asymmetric Venom shape with maximum continuation. Specifically, the asymmetric Gear APG Core has a moderate differential and a defined intermediate differential for a pronounced breakpoint, while the Leverage MXC cover at a 3000-grit finish reads a bit earlier than the Black Venom and keeps driving through the pins. The Asymmetric Evolution of the Benchmark Gear Core

At the heart of the Lethal Venom is the asymmetric Gear APG Core, the same asymmetric block as the Black Venom. At 15 lb it measures RG 2.47, a .036 differential, and a .013 intermediate differential, numbers that produce a controllable motion with a defined, asymmetric breakpoint. The asymmetric design adds shape and continuation the symmetric Venoms cannot.

The Lethal Venom wraps that core in Motiv’s Leverage MXC Solid Reactive coverstock at a 3000-grit finish. MXC stands for Maximum Continuation: the cover is tuned to keep the ball driving through the pins rather than rolling out, and the 3000-grit surface reads a touch earlier than the Black Venom’s 4000-grit finish.

That earlier read and continuous follow-through are what separate the Lethal Venom from the Black Venom. The MXC cover digs in a little sooner and keeps moving, so it is the choice when you want an asymmetric Venom that drives hard through the rack. Leave it at the 3000-grit box finish for that continuous read, or adjust the surface at your pro shop to fine-tune it.
