Description
A Strong, Early-Reading Asymmetric Hybrid for Heavy Oil
About the Deep Impact
The Radical Deep Impact is the strong, early-reading hybrid of the Torpedo family, built to attack heavy oil. It pairs the asymmetric Torpedo Core with the HK22C+ Hybrid coverstock at a sanded finish, so it reads the midlane early and drives hard through the pins on medium to heavy oil. It is the traction-first piece of the Torpedo lineup.
The Deep Impact shares the strong Torpedo asymmetric core with the Torpedo pearl but wraps it in a sanded HK22C+ hybrid cover. The hybrid reads the midlane earlier than the polished Torpedo, so the Deep Impact reads sooner and rolls stronger, giving you an early, defined asymmetric shape when the lane has the most oil.
Understanding the Radical Torpedo Asymmetric Core and Radical HK22C+ Hybrid Reactive
Radical built the Deep Impact for an early, strong asymmetric read on medium to heavy oil. Specifically, the asymmetric Torpedo Core posts a 2.482 RG, a strong .054 differential, and a .017 intermediate differential for high flare and a defined breakpoint, while the HK22C+ Hybrid cover at a 2000-grit finish reads the midlane early and drives through the pins. As a result, it gives you a strong, controllable asymmetric motion. The per-weight specifications are listed below.
A Strong Asymmetric Core, Shared With the Torpedo
At the heart of the Deep Impact is the same asymmetric Torpedo Core used in the Torpedo. At 15 lb it measures a 2.482 RG, a strong .054 differential, and a .017 intermediate differential, a combination that produces high track flare and a pronounced, defined breakpoint.
Radical wraps the Torpedo core in DynamiCore, Brunswick’s industry-leading outer-core technology, for added durability and a stronger hitting ball. Pairing this strong core with a sanded hybrid cover is what gives the Deep Impact its early, strong read, and because it is asymmetric, your pro shop can tune the layout to your game.
A Sanded HK22C+ Hybrid for an Early, Strong Read
The Deep Impact wraps that core in Radical’s HK22C+ Hybrid Reactive coverstock at a 2000-grit finish. HK22C+ is the strongest tier of Radical’s HyperKinetic22 cover family, and as a hybrid at a sanded finish it reads the midlane early and grabs medium to heavy oil, so the ball gets into a strong roll and drives through the pins.
That early, traction-first read is what separates the Deep Impact from the polished Torpedo: it reads sooner and rolls stronger, making it the choice when the lane has the most oil. Leave it at the 2000-grit box finish for medium to heavy oil, take the surface lower for more traction, or polish it up for a cleaner, longer look as the lanes dry.

Who This Ball Is Right For
✓Tournament Players: An early-reading, strong asymmetric for medium to heavy fresh oil
✓Higher-Rev Bowlers: The strong Torpedo core and sanded HK22C+ hybrid reward revs with an early, continuous shape
✓Power Players: Early midlane read and strong flare to clear oil and keep driving through the pins
✓Arsenal Builders: The early-reading, sanded flagship of the Torpedo family, paired with the cleaner Torpedo pearl
Good to Know Before You Buy
·Strong, aggressive motion: This is a high-flare piece built for traction. If you want a controlled, lower-hook reaction, a lower-differential ball will suit you better.
·Ships sanded for traction: The 2000 Grit finish is built to grip in oil. Polish it for more length when the volume drops.
·Asymmetric layout sensitivity: Layout choices shift the reaction more than on a symmetric ball. Match the pin and mass bias to your game with your pro shop.
·Sold undrilled: Ships without finger holes, so it can be fitted to your hand and span.
BowlersMart Tips: Where the Deep Impact Fits in Your Radical Arsenal
Where It Fits in Your Arsenal
In the Radical lineup, the Deep Impact is the strong, early-reading hybrid of the Torpedo family. It shares the Torpedo core with the Torpedo and Torpedo Direct Hit, but the sanded hybrid cover reads earliest and strongest. Throw the Deep Impact on fresh heavy oil, then move to the Torpedo through transition and the Direct Hit when the lane dries.
Surface Adjustments
The 2000-grit finish gives the Deep Impact its early, strong read. Take the surface lower for more traction on heavier oil, or polish it up for a cleaner, longer look as the lanes dry. Have surface changes done at your pro shop for an even, consistent finish.
Coverstock Care
Wipe the HK22C+ Hybrid cover with an approved reactive ball cleaner after every session, and deep clean it periodically. A sanded hybrid like the Deep Impact relies on a fresh, clean surface to keep reading the midlane early.
