Radical Deep Impact Bowling Ball

A Strong, Early-Reading Asymmetric Hybrid for Heavy Oil

About the Deep Impact

The Radical Deep Impact is the strong, early-reading hybrid of the Torpedo family, built to attack heavy oil. It pairs the asymmetric Torpedo Core with the HK22C+ Hybrid coverstock at a sanded finish, so it reads the midlane early and drives hard through the pins on medium to heavy oil. It is the traction-first piece of the Torpedo lineup.

The Deep Impact shares the strong Torpedo asymmetric core with the Torpedo pearl but wraps it in a sanded HK22C+ hybrid cover. The hybrid reads the midlane earlier than the polished Torpedo, so the Deep Impact reads sooner and rolls stronger, giving you an early, defined asymmetric shape when the lane has the most oil.

Understanding the Radical Torpedo Asymmetric Core and Radical HK22C+ Hybrid Reactive

Radical built the Deep Impact for an early, strong asymmetric read on medium to heavy oil. Specifically, the asymmetric Torpedo Core posts a 2.480 RG, a strong .052 differential, and a .019 intermediate differential for high flare and a defined breakpoint, while the HK22C+ Hybrid cover at a 2000-grit finish reads the midlane early and drives through the pins. As a result, it gives you a strong, controllable asymmetric motion. The per-weight specifications are listed below.

A Strong Asymmetric Core, Shared With the Torpedo

At the heart of the Deep Impact is the same asymmetric Torpedo Core used in the Torpedo. At 15 lb it measures a 2.480 RG, a strong .052 differential, and a .019 intermediate differential, a combination that produces high track flare and a pronounced, defined breakpoint.

Radical wraps the Torpedo core in DynamiCore, Brunswick’s industry-leading outer-core technology, for added durability and a stronger hitting ball. Pairing this strong core with a sanded hybrid cover is what gives the Deep Impact its early, strong read, and because it is asymmetric, your pro shop can tune the layout to your game.

A Sanded HK22C+ Hybrid for an Early, Strong Read

The Deep Impact wraps that core in Radical’s HK22C+ Hybrid Reactive coverstock at a 2000-grit finish. HK22C+ is the strongest tier of Radical’s HyperKinetic22 cover family, and as a hybrid at a sanded finish it reads the midlane early and grabs medium to heavy oil, so the ball gets into a strong roll and drives through the pins.

That early, traction-first read is what separates the Deep Impact from the polished Torpedo: it reads sooner and rolls stronger, making it the choice when the lane has the most oil. Leave it at the 2000-grit box finish for medium to heavy oil, take the surface lower for more traction, or polish it up for a cleaner, longer look as the lanes dry.
