The Ice pairs a simple, low-flare 3-piece core with a clear polyester (plastic) coverstock at a 3500-grit polish. Plastic is the least aggressive coverstock material, so the Ice ignores the oil and goes exactly where you aim it, the standard for confident spare conversions.

Specifically, the simple 3-piece core has a high RG and almost no differential, so the ball produces essentially zero track flare, while the polyester cover generates very little friction with the lane.
