Storm IQ Tour Bowling Ball

The Legendary Benchmark Solid

About the IQ Tour

If you are searching for exceptional reliability, consistency, and predictability, the Storm IQ Tour is the perfect choice. For more than a decade it has been one of the most trusted benchmark balls in the sport, the first piece out of the bag for countless league bowlers and tour professionals alike.

The IQ Tour pairs the symmetric C3 Centripetal Control Core with Storm’s proven R2S Solid Reactive coverstock at a 4000-grit finish. The result is a smooth, controllable, endlessly readable motion that tells you exactly what the lane is doing, the definition of a benchmark ball for medium to medium-heavy oil.

Understanding the Storm C3 Centripetal Control Core and Storm R2S Solid Reactive

Storm built the IQ Tour to be the benchmark every other ball is measured against. Specifically, the symmetric C3 Centripetal Control Core revs up quickly with a smooth change of direction and an extremely low center of gravity, giving players ultimate control at the breakpoint, while the R2S Solid cover at a 4000-grit finish reads the mid-lane honestly and continues to the pocket. As a result, it delivers a reliable, repeatable shape that makes it the perfect reference piece. The full per-weight specifications are listed below.

The Symmetric Core That Defines Workability and Control

At the heart of the IQ Tour is the symmetric C3 Centripetal Control Core. At 15 lb it measures RG 2.49 and a .029 differential, numbers that produce a smooth, controllable motion with medium flare. The core revs up quickly and provides a smoother change of direction down-lane, with an extremely low center of gravity, exactly what players who need control at the breakpoint are looking for.

That workability and forgiveness are why the C3 core has been the benchmark standard for years. As a symmetric core, it reads the lane predictably and repeats the same shape shot after shot, so the IQ Tour shows you what the pattern is doing and lets you make a confident move. It is the reference all your other equipment plays off of.

A Proven Solid Cover for an Honest, Readable Mid-Lane

The IQ Tour wraps that core in Storm’s legendary R2S Solid Reactive coverstock, finished at 4000 grit. The R2S solid reads the mid-lane honestly and grabs the oil for a strong, controllable read, then continues smoothly to the pocket rather than snapping. The 4000-grit surface keeps the motion clean, even, and predictable.

That honest read is what makes the IQ Tour the ultimate benchmark. It does not overreact or surprise you: it tells you exactly what the lane is doing so you can make an informed move with the rest of your bag. Leave it at the 4000-grit box finish for the classic benchmark look, or adjust the surface at your pro shop to fine-tune the read for more or less oil.
