One approach to training for any sport involves training your muscles through the planes of movement that they work in. For example, in bowling, lunges are particularly important for training your leg that finishes your approach (slide step). Your knee and hip both flex in the same direction that your motion is guiding you. These are important aspects to focus on when working with a personal trainer so they can help prepare you specifically for your sport. In bowling, you can focus on lunges, trunk rotation, shoulder extension and flexion, and many more.
