These Are The Best Bowling Balls For Lane Transition

Transition is a relatively easy word to understand but seeing the transition can be a very tricky concept to grasp! These three bowling balls are my go to balls for the transitional phase of bowling!

What’s going on guys welcome back to the channel. On today’s video we’re going to talk about my three favorite transitional bowling balls.

So what is a transitional ball, let’s start there. At the root for me the simplest way to describe what a transitional ball is, that ball that you go to once the lane starts
to transition and you need a ball change to. That to me what a transitional ball is so. I have my favorite transitional ball here from each of the three brands, Storm, Roto Grip, and 900 Global.

So for storm we have the phase five it’s a symmetrical pearl with a weak coverstock and it’s a polished finish. It’s going to be very clean through the front, it’s going to be the ball that I’m going to go to when I need to just shoot the fronts.
For Roto Grip I have the RST X3, now this is a ball that I didn’t necessarily love on the fresh but once I got into it into that transitional ball it has been my go-to ball in league for game four. When I got to get left and really like keep it in the oil slow hook it in the oil it’s been that fantastic ball motion.

For the 900 Global brand it’s the reality check from the moment I first rolled the reality check it’s been like one of the best go-to balls that I’ve had. We’re going to be here at Sam’s Town on Lane one which is nice and transitioned. I just shot a video on it and so hopefully I can show you guys why these three are my favorite
transitional balls.

So the question of the video for today is what is your go-to transitional ball and why.

Storm Phaze 5 Bowling Ball

Can you feel it? That’s power. Pure, unchecked tournament-winning power. Combining proven technologies, the Phaze V is an alchemy of components that will provide nothing but soaring scores. Every ball has the general desire to imagine itself as the start of something entirely new, unbeholden to what has come before. When the salt settles, we’re left with neither triumph nor tragedy. Instead, it’s one more chapter in the continuing saga, punctuated by a moment of genuine awe. One of those moments is right now.

This low RG gem has a strong heart. Being one of the most aggressive symmetrical balls ever devised, your shots become more comfortable so you can bowl with effortless focus on your shot quality. The Velocity Core is designed to help you play at pace with more revs, power and control, for true consistency. There is a reason this construction has turned into the go-to chassis for professionals around the world.

The Phaze 5 is the reissue of the Phaze 4 in a different color and with the new Reacta Gloss finish. It comes with the tried and tested R2S Pearl shell, which you’ve also seen on the Hy-Road Pearl & Trend. With this surface, it glides longer than the Phaze III and gives off a stronger backend response.

What’s noticeable is that his mid lane movement isn’t all that much smaller. So you get a ball here that is really versatile. It will mainly be used on house patterns and played sports patterns. With the new color pattern you can also see its rotational movement very well.

Roto Grip RST X-3 Bowling Ball

Dating back to the mid-1950’s, there is a reason Roto Grip is often referred to as the “Original High-Performance Bowling Ball Specialists.” Our latest asymmetrical creation continues that tradition with the development of the RST Core which produces consistent core torque and energy transfer down lane where it is needed most.

RST – Roto Star Tour Core…
Professional bowlers like to see continuous motion down lane with minimal deflection as the ball enters the pocket due to their rev rates usually being on the higher side. This logic was the basis of development by the R&D team as they looked to create a core that would maintain dynamics after drilling in order to maintain a higher level of core torque down lane. The larger mass at the base of the core does indeed create that. Especially since when drilled, the thumbhole will always end up near the bottom of the void area not to affect the bottom mass of the core all that much. Thus, making this core a “Tour Level” type core design.

This version of MicroTrax™ Hybrid features nanoparticles throughout to provide the traction you need in oil, while its two parts pearl provide you the reaction you have come to know and love about the RST Series. So, whether you are a recent PBA Hall of Famer, or this is your very first high-end ball, the RST X-3 will provide unparalleled reaction time and time again.

Behind the X name…
When it all began back in the early 1950’s, Roto Star (later known as Roto Grip) quickly became known as the “High Performance Bowling Ball Specialists.”

Because of this industry leading mantra, and with the latest creation of the Roto Star Tour Core, it only made sense to go back in time to recapture the vibe and pay homage to those balls that set the standard for technology and development.

900 Global Reality Check Bowling Ball

The ALL NEW S84 Beta Hybrid Cover was designed to complement the S84 Response Cover. This revolutionary material reduces the microscopic pore sizes while maintaining the “teeth” that its predecessor became famous for. S84 Beta offers a similar overall hook potential versus S84 Response, but a vastly different backend shape. Paired with the Disturbance Asymmetric Core, the Reality Check will offer the most angular reaction ever for the 900 Series!!

The Disturbance Asymmetric Core utilizes a modified scutoid geometric shape. This eccentric shape has a base of 6 sides and an apex of 5 sides. The elimination of the 6th side as you move vertically up the weight block creates the perfect amount of asymmetry. This shape also provides the RG/Diff values that all bowlers demand by utilizing a smaller amount of space within the outer core. When you put all of this together…we have created a truly unique and never before seen reaction to the 900 Series.

The S84 Beta Cover, with its special chemical composition that creates up to 20% larger pore sizes, has been altered to a 1500-grit polished finish. The Reality, even though it was a cleaner dull ball, is still very strong in the front part of the lane. The Altered Reality will clear the heads much easier and save more energy for the back part of the lane. Even though the cover is a pearl and polished, the larger pore size allows for more traction in the oil than traditional pearl covers.
