The recipe is simple. The symmetric Excel Core carries a higher RG so the ball holds its energy longer, while a slightly higher differential than the Ascend creates more track flare and noticeably more hook. Wrapped in the Vitality Pearl Reactive coverstock at a 5500 Grit LSP finish, the Frenzy clears the front with ease and unleashes controlled power on lighter oil. In Motiv’s words, it is not beginner gear, it is performance without the complexity.

Understanding the Motiv Excel Core and Motiv Vitality Pearl Reactive

Motiv built the Frenzy to attack lighter volumes of oil with more motion than the Ascend. Specifically, the symmetric Excel Core has a high RG and a moderate differential (2.55 RG and .030 differential at 15 lb, versus 2.59 and .023 for the Ascend), so it holds energy through the front and flares enough to create noticeably more hook, while the Vitality Pearl Reactive cover at a 5500 Grit LSP finish keeps the ball clean through the heads for controlled power on the backend. A High-RG Symmetric Core With Just Enough Flare to Hook

At the heart of the Frenzy is the symmetric Excel Core. At 15 lb it measures a high RG of 2.55 with a .030 differential. The high RG means the ball holds its energy longer through the front of the lane instead of revving up early, which is exactly what you want on lighter oil. The differential, a step up from the Ascend’s .023, creates more track flare and a noticeably stronger move on the backend.

Because the Excel Core is symmetric, the reaction is smooth and predictable shot after shot and it is forgiving of layout, so your pro shop can drill it simply and it will read the lane the same way every time. That combination of stored energy and manageable flare is what lets the Frenzy deliver more motion without becoming hard to control.

A Pearl Reactive Cover Built to Clear the Front and Finish Strong

Wrapping the Excel Core is Motiv’s Vitality Pearl Reactive coverstock at a 5500 Grit LSP factory finish. The pearl additive and the polished surface conserve energy through the heads, so the Frenzy pushes cleanly through the front of the lane and stores its power for a controlled, responsive move at the breakpoint. It is built for light to medium oil, the conditions where stronger balls hook too early and entry-level balls do not hook enough.

The Blue/Teal colorway (Blue/Navy/Teal Pearl) carries a red pearl engraving. Leave the 5500 Grit LSP finish for the cleanest length, or have your pro shop take the surface down for an earlier read when the lanes carry a little more oil.
