Can The Storm Phaze V Bowling Ball Compete With The GOAT Phaze 2?

The Storm Phaze 2 is easily one of the GOAT bowling balls! So how does the Phaze V stack up?

What’s going on guys welcome back to the channel, on today’s video I’m going to be comparing one of the greatest bowling balls of all time the phase two to the all-new phase five.

So the phase two and the phase five have a ton in common but one really really big thing that’s different that’s going to make them roll completely different from one another on the lanes. Let’s talk about some of the things that these balls have alike, we’ll start with the layout.

The layout are the same on both of these being 30 by 4 by 30. Also the cores are exactly the same, the velocity core in 15 pounds has an RG of 2.48 and a Max differential of 0.051.

Now let’s talk about the covers because the covers and the finishes are going to be what’s going to make these two balls roll different from one another. The phase 2 features the TX 16 cover stock that comes out of box at a 3000 finish
while The Phase 5 features the R2S Pearl cover stock that comes out of the box at a reacta gloss finish. These two bowling balls are not going to roll anything like each other. The phase two is definitely going to be earlier, smoother that more bench-marky type ball reaction. The Phase 5 is going to be way cleaner through the fronts and produce more shape down lane and be more of a go-to
bowling ball. Even though these two balls have the same core I definitely think that this could be a really good one-two punch because they should be pretty similar in the middle part of the lane, it’s just down lane where it’s going to be the biggest difference. Let me know down below in the comments if you guys have a Phaze two or a phase five or which one of these two is your favorite and why. For me, I’ve been saying it since I threw the phase five that it’s my second favorite phase behind the Phaze 2. We’re going to be here on Lane one at Sam’s Town on a fresh typical house shot.

All right so we’re all done with today’s video, I think the biggest thing that I took away from this is that the phase two and the phase five can be a great one two punch. Let me know down below in the comments if you guys see and agree with me. Also what are your thoughts and let me know what they are in the comments. Thank you guys so much for watching the video I appreciate it.

Storm Phaze 5 Bowling Ball

Can you feel it? That’s power. Pure, unchecked tournament-winning power. Combining proven technologies, the Phaze V is an alchemy of components that will provide nothing but soaring scores. Every ball has the general desire to imagine itself as the start of something entirely new, unbeholden to what has come before. When the salt settles, we’re left with neither triumph nor tragedy. Instead, it’s one more chapter in the continuing saga, punctuated by a moment of genuine awe. One of those moments is right now.

This low RG gem has a strong heart. Being one of the most aggressive symmetrical balls ever devised, your shots become more comfortable so you can bowl with effortless focus on your shot quality. The Velocity Core is designed to help you play at pace with more revs, power and control, for true consistency. There is a reason this construction has turned into the go-to chassis for professionals around the world.

The Phaze 5 is the reissue of the Phaze 4 in a different color and with the new Reacta Gloss finish. It comes with the tried and tested R2S Pearl shell, which you’ve also seen on the Hy-Road Pearl & Trend. With this surface, it glides longer than the Phaze III and gives off a stronger backend response.

What’s noticeable is that his mid lane movement isn’t all that much smaller. So you get a ball here that is really versatile. It will mainly be used on house patterns and played sports patterns. With the new color pattern you can also see its rotational movement very well.

Storm Phaze 2 Bowling Ball

“Phaze 2 is amazing, one of the strongest and most versatile balls I have ever thrown.” – Mike LeViner – BowlersMart Charlotte

The new Phaze II features both innovative core and coverstock technology, proving again that Storm is the leader in bowling innovation. Advancements in the core shape are easily seen with the naked eye. This fast-revving shape, the aptly-named, supercharged Velocity Core helps you crush pin after pin as it produces more ball motion than any other shape in our Master Line. It smooths out the backend reaction without over-reacting and avoids creating an undesirable last-second movement.

TX-16 (Traction-X 2016) is what emerges from countless hours in R&D to develop the finest coverstocks on the planet. This solid reactive blend leaves an incredible footprint on the lane. The marriage between the core and the cover produces the strongest motion of any symmetrical Storm ball to date.
