Storm Phaze 5 Bowling Ball Review | PBA Champion Stu Williams | Beef and Barnzy

Storm Phaze 5 Bowling Ball

Can you feel it? That’s power. Pure, unchecked tournament-winning power. Combining proven technologies, the Phaze V is an alchemy of components that will provide nothing but soaring scores. Every ball has the general desire to imagine itself as the start of something entirely new, unbeholden to what has come before. When the salt settles, we’re left with neither triumph nor tragedy. Instead, it’s one more chapter in the continuing saga, punctuated by a moment of genuine awe. One of those moments is right now.

This low RG gem has a strong heart. Being one of the most aggressive symmetrical balls ever devised, your shots become more comfortable so you can bowl with effortless focus on your shot quality. The Velocity Core is designed to help you play at pace with more revs, power and control, for true consistency. There is a reason this construction has turned into the go-to chassis for professionals around the world.

The Phaze 5 is the reissue of the Phaze 4 in a different color and with the new Reacta Gloss finish. It comes with the tried and tested R2S Pearl shell, which you’ve also seen on the Hy-Road Pearl & Trend. With this surface, it glides longer than the Phaze III and gives off a stronger backend response.

What’s noticeable is that his mid lane movement isn’t all that much smaller. So you get a ball here that is really versatile. It will mainly be used on house patterns and played sports patterns. With the new color pattern you can also see its rotational movement very well.

okay
we are going to do a phase five one game
we’re up here at Highland Lanes in
Austin we are using
the house shop it’s been used a little
bit this morning by the Senior League so
the back ends they’re a little tighter
than normal
which I think is actually going to help
allow me to control the phase five a
little bit
um I bowled a little bit before I start
filming this video
I I could ball to the right but I felt
like when I balled to the right it just
it isn’t really what this ball is
designed for
so for me this is how I’d be using it
slightly softer ball speed a little more
rotation than my kind of stock release
there we go kicking the 10 out so
I uh I went with my kind of standard
five and a half inch pin four and a half
inch Mass bias three inch pin buffer
which translates to about a
60 by five and a half by 35 I think
we’ve got a little bit of a ball return
issue
here he comes
which is one of the layouts that
I used on my phase fours which I really
liked
of all the balls that um
the USBC stopped as using
um at Nationals the phase four was the
one that I was most sad about
um this one a low Stains have the same
weight block and cover the different
colors or finishes or whatever
I feel like this phase five
is a little more rounded it’s not it’s
definitely not as flippy as the face for
so I think it’s actually going to be
bare on the house shots
um because it just doesn’t come off the
dry quite as violently
um
it’s definitely going to fit in a
slightly different place in my bag
than the forwarded
oh God that’s gotta hurry
oh it did I missed way in the oil on
that one
um
so yeah I think a lot of people might
actually quite like this who didn’t like
the phase four because the phase four
was so angular
um
I would have drilled a phase four for
this video
but I’m uh I’m saving those for the
tournaments where I can make money
oh we got another lucky one
so
um what are you getting out of this well
I think you’re getting that proven low
RG
kind of staple in your bag
it’s going to be a great compliment I
believe
to the phase two which I know is a lot
of people’s Benchmark balls
it’s going to be something that’s
obviously cleaner it’s going to be a
little weaker but definitely going to be
more on the back
okay where to strike alert
um well we have the front
seven
front seven so
um
I haven’t done anything with the cover
I’ve rolled about
five games with this ball maybe before
today this is the new reactor gloss
finish
there we go
yeah so we’re at the gloss finish
um
I look at a lot of bowling balls
I’m not sure I can tell the difference
between this and 1500 grit polish which
I think was the idea
um
if I was to take a slight guess I would
say that this probably isn’t quite as
shiny but I mean
it’s pretty close
there we go
front nine
it is definitely more rounded than the
four
um
I see it
uh yeah I see it fitting underneath the
Zen
um it definitely isn’t it’s definitely
cleaner than the Zen
but I think it’s more Zen like down the
lane than say phase four
um the night Road
um just a different shape this is this
is smoother than the night Road even
with the night Road having the 4K fast
finish on it
um for me the night road is my go-to
stand left throw right really get around
all of the transition ball this is going
to be like kind of
when the night Road’s a little bit too
when the lanes aren’t broken down enough
for the night Road
ah
well that was a bomber
289
