Motiv Bowling Ball Cores
Every Motiv core in a ball we sell, with its RG, differential and mass bias, on one map
Motiv puts 15 different cores into the 30 Motiv balls we have in stock today: 11 symmetric and 4 asymmetric. The newest is the Motiv Excel Core. The strongest flare comes from the Motiv Detonator Core (differential 0.055), and the earliest-revving is the Motiv Detonator Core (RG 2.470). Every core below links to its own page with specs by weight and the balls built on it.

Questions bowlers ask
What cores does Motiv use in its bowling balls?
15 different cores are in the Motiv balls we stock today: Flux V2 Core, Detonator Core, Gear Core, Predator V2 Core, Affliction V2 Core, Excel Core, Gear APG, Halogen Core and others. 11 are symmetric and 4 asymmetric. Each core’s page lists its RG, differential and mass bias by weight.
Which Motiv core has the most flare?
The Motiv Detonator Core, with a differential of 0.055 at 15 lb, the highest of Motiv’s current cores. Higher differential means more flare potential and a stronger, more angular motion.
Which Motiv core revs up earliest?
The Motiv Detonator Core, with an RG of 2.470 at 15 lb, the lowest of Motiv’s current cores. A low RG core starts revving sooner and reads the midlane earlier.
Are Motiv cores symmetric or asymmetric?
Both. Of the 15 Motiv cores in stock, 11 are symmetric (one pin marker, a smooth continuous arc) and 4 are asymmetric (pin and PSA markers, a stronger and more angular backend).
What is Motiv’s newest core?
The Motiv Excel Core, first sold here in August 2026. It is symmetric with an RG of 2.550 and a differential of 0.030 at 15 lb.
