Description
More Reaction Options for No Thumb Bowlers
About the Outsider
DV8’s patent-pending No Thumb core technology continues to redefine what’s possible with the DV8 Outsider. Rather than designing around traditional core numbers, the Outsider was engineered to give bowlers more reaction options than ever before.
With a benchmark layout, it delivers a versatile, dependable motion that performs across a broad range of lane conditions. Change the drilling, and the personality changes with it: taller pin, stronger layouts create a sharper, more angular move through the pins, while placing the pin closer to the fingers for weaker layouts produces a smoother, more controlled shape for managing friction and keeping the ball in play. It streets October 22, 2026 in Black / Royal / Grey.
Understanding the DV8 Renegade Core and DV8 HK22 Jailbreak F7 Solid Reactive
The Outsider pairs DV8’s asymmetric Renegade core (2.499 RG, .040 differential and .020 asymmetry at 15 lb) with the HK22 Jailbreak (F7) solid cover at a 500, 1000, 1500 Siaair / Factory Compound finish. DV8 rates it for medium oil with length and a strong breakpoint. DynamiCore adds hitting power and durability. The 13 and 12 lb weights use a dedicated core (2.580 RG, .045 differential at 13 lb).
A No Thumb Core Designed Around the Layout
The asymmetric Renegade core is built on DV8’s patent-pending No Thumb technology: DV8’s No Thumb cores include defined areas where the two finger holes hit specific parts of the core, so the drilling changes the numbers and the reaction more dramatically than on a typical core. At 15 lb the Renegade measures a 2.499 RG, .040 differential and .020 asymmetry.
That is why the Outsider can play like more than one ball. A taller pin, stronger layout sharpens the move through the pins; a pin closer to the fingers smooths it out for control. The 13 and 12 lb weights carry a dedicated core (2.580 RG, .045 differential, .010 asymmetry at 13 lb).
A Compound-Finished Solid for Length and a Strong Breakpoint
The Outsider wraps the Renegade core in the HK22 Jailbreak (F7) solid reactive cover at a 500, 1000, 1500 Siaair / Factory Compound finish. The solid gives it the traction to read the mid-lane, and the compound box surface helps it get through the front.
DV8’s performance rating for the Outsider is length with a strong breakpoint, on medium oil. DynamiCore in the core adds hitting power and durability.

Good to Know Before You Buy
·Built for No Thumb, fine with a thumb: DV8 designed the core with drill areas where the two finger holes change the reaction more than on a typical core. Thumb-in bowlers can use it too; DV8 publishes layout resources for both No Thumb and thumb-in players.
·The layout sets the personality: Per DV8, taller pin and stronger layouts create a sharper, more angular move, while placing the pin closer to the fingers produces a smoother, more controlled shape. Work out the layout with your pro shop.
·Ships polished: The 500, 1000, 1500 Siaair / Factory Compound finish runs clean and long out of the box. For an earlier read on heavier oil, take the surface down at your pro shop.
·Colors vary: Actual colors vary somewhat from the photos shown; no two balls come out of the mold exactly alike.
·Tiny pit holes are normal: A few tiny pit holes in the coverstock are a normal part of the manufacturing process.
·Sold undrilled: Ships without finger holes, so it can be fitted to your hand and span.
BowlersMart Tips: Where the Outsider Fits in Your DV8 No Thumb Arsenal
Where It Fits in Your Arsenal
In DV8’s No Thumb lineup, the Outsider is the versatile benchmark solid. It sits between the stronger Heckler Hybrid for medium to heavy oil and the control-first Smooth Criminal for short patterns and wet/dry conditions, with Double Trouble as the pearl option for length and a strong backend.
Surface Adjustments
The 500, 1000, 1500 Siaair / Factory Compound finish ships clean and long. Take the surface down at your pro shop for an earlier read when the oil is heavier, or keep it polished for maximum length. Have surface changes done at your pro shop for an even, consistent finish.
Coverstock Care
Reactive covers absorb oil over time, which softens the reaction. Wipe the ball down after every set and deep clean it periodically so the HK22 Jailbreak (F7) Solid cover keeps the motion it shipped with.
