2020 Professional Bowling Power Rankings Top 20 – Number 8 – Kyle Sherman

Career Titles: 1
Age: 25
2019 Earnings: $97,558 (rank: 10)
2019 Points: 20,643 (rank: 8)
2019 Peak Ranking: 5
2019 Low Ranking: Unranked

2019 Season

In July, Sherman earned his first career PBA Tour title by winning the PBA/PWBA Striking Against Breast Cancer Mixed Doubles with partner Amanda Greene. Over the course of the season, Sherman finished in the top 10 seven times, which is more often than he finished outside the top 20. Without question, 2019 was Sherman’s breakout year in professional bowling, and he only seemed to get better as the year went on. The 25-year-old pulled down nearly six figures in earnings, almost five times his previous best total.

2020 Outlook

Watch for Sherman’s name in the majors. In 2019, he finished 30th in the Players Championship, eighth in the World Championship, 13th in the USBC Masters and 18th in the U.S. Open (he didn’t bowl the Tournament of Champions as he missed the cut in the PTQ, which is a confounding problem of whether to knock him for it or not – we won’t this time). In 2020, he has an automatic berth into the TOC and it would not shock anyone to see Sherman make a couple major top fives, if not snag a victory.
