The new Brunswick Uppercut Bowling Ball was a no brainer for Brunswick after re-releasing the ever-popular Melee Jab SE bowling ball this summer. The Melee Jab is a favorite of bowlers around the world and the Uppercut utilizes the same Melee core and the same base cover formulation but with texture for more overall traction.

Brunswick Uppercut Bowling Ball

The great thing about the Brunswick Uppercut’s core is regardless of style, the Uppercut revs up easily but has the magical mix of controlling the midlane for many styles. Most balls will want to rev up fast and burn energy or store energy and depending on styles be too early or not early enough leaving over-under ball reaction.

This new texture that was added to the Melee cover on the Brunswick Uppercut allows for more midlane traction, allowing this ball to showcase the core in heavier oiled lane conditions. This ball for our testers was easily 4 to 5 boards stronger and a few feet sooner compared to the Jab.
