Roto Grip RST X-2 Bowling Ball Report Card

Hey everyone, welcome to our report card for the RST X2.  Storm Products, Turbo Grips, Bowler’s Mart, Coolwick, SRGBBFS on Facebook, and Royal Crest Lanes in Lawrence, KS sponsor the videos, follow the links in the description and end of the video to Bowler’s Mart for your bowling needs, that lets them know I sent you, my code Rosdahl10 gets you 10% off your purchases at Coolwick, and the SRGBBFS group on Facebook is your one stop destination for all things SPI, specializing in used, rare, and international equipment.

Angel and I are both big fans of eTrax, it’s a clean and strong but controllable medium strength cover.  We both liked our Rubicon, the UC2, the UFO Alert, and now the RST X2, as well as virtually all of the previous etrax variants.

Personally I’ve been getting a bit more use out of the X2 recently than the Alert, I’m a huge fan of the Alert, but I’ve got more overlap in the straighter zone slot than I do in the covering boards slot, and the X2 has been seeing a lot of action lately.

Normally straighter is greater on the left, but I’ve run into a lot of situations where it’s dry in the fronts and I’ve had to get in just to get it down the lane.

The X2 is really clean up front, sometimes even a bit too clean, but it covers a lot of ground on the backend and the length allows you to make physical adjustments to fine tune the reaction.

Same thing for Angel, she doesn’t need the big wheels very often, but this is her best look when she does.  The X2 is half UFO Alert and half UC2, it’s cleaner and rollier like the Alert, but has nearly the same boom down lane as the UC2 does.

This is the asymmetric pearl in any of the catalogs that we use the most frequently, I think we got it right in the review, but it’s quite a bit more usable than either of us expected with how quick it is, and it’s the first one out of the bag when we need to get a ball through the fronts and get it back up the hill down lane.  Thanks for watching and may the strikes be with you.
